I think everything said made a ton of sense. But, think about this, suppose you were to write a awesome headline? I am not saying your information is not good, but suppose you added a title that makes people want more? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little vanilla. You might look at Yahoo's front page and watch how they create news titles to grab people interested. You might try adding a video or a related picture or two to grab people excited about what you've written. Just my opinion, it might make your website a little bit more interesting.
