I think what you posted made a lot of sense. However, think on this, suppose you added a little content? I am not saying your content is not good, but suppose you added something that grabbed people's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little boring. You should look at Yahoo's home page and note how they write news headlines to grab viewers to open the links. You might try adding a video or a related pic or two to grab readers excited about everything've got to say. In my opinion, it could bring your blog a little bit more interesting.
